What I do

I write briefings and original research papers for people who value independent insight and authentic work. Themes include regional security analysis, cybersecurity and science diplomacy.

I work with corporations, universities and government agencies, providing impartial analysis that guides their partnership and investment decisions.

Where I work

I have worked in the US, the UK, Central Asia, Australia, India, Indonesia and Singapore. I'm currently based in the western Himalayas and London.

Tools and techniques

I am trained in qualitative research methods, intelligence analysis and field observations. I use a range of formal research methods in my commissioned projects, including:

• literature reviews, abstract and synthesis writing, hypothesis generation;
• ACH, capability matrix, keyword analysis, network profiling;
• knowledge maps and timelines.
